What’s good brother,

I want to ask you something honest.

When you were younger,
before the world told you to be realistic,
before the responsibilities piled up,
before life got heavy,

who did you think you’d become?

Not the safe answer.

The real one.

The version you pictured
when nobody was watching
and anything felt possible.

That man.

Where is he?

Because I think about this a lot.

How many men are walking around right now
carrying a version of themselves
they quietly gave up on.

Not dramatically.
Not all at once.

Just slowly.

One compromise at a time.
One “maybe later” at a time.
One year at a time.

Until later became never
and the man they were supposed to become
became a memory they visit sometimes.

Usually late at night.
Usually alone.

Usually with that quiet feeling
that something is missing.

That feeling is a message.

It’s the real you
knocking on the door.

Telling you it’s not too late.
Telling you the gap is still closable.
Telling you that the man you were supposed to become
is still possible.

But he’s not built by waiting.

He’s built by deciding.

Today.
This week.
This Sunday.

One decision to stop letting yourself off the hook.
One decision to take yourself seriously.
One decision to become who you always knew you could be.

That’s all it takes to start.

Just the decision.

Make it today brother.

See you next Sunday.

~G.
